What makes VOKOL speakers better than “the others?” This is an excellent opportunity to highlight three principles we follow. These are general concepts and do not need to be drawn out on this page.
Cone
Polypropylene is known for its durability and longevity while remaining lightweight and highly rigid, making it an ideal choice for a speaker cone. The polypropylene, with the addition of UV stabilizers, prevents the unit from discoloring or becoming brittle (which can often happen with lower-quality materials) and provides excellent resistance to wear and tear, allowing the speaker to withstand the test of time. This robust construction guarantees consistent performance and helps maintain optimal sound quality for years to come.
Spider
Maintaining linear movement of the voice coil and cone, the spider ensures the accuracy of audio frequencies and minimizes distortion. Spiders are designed to handle higher power levels without compromising the speaker’s integrity. As an added feature, the Spider is designed to self-extinguish, minimizing the risk of damage.
Voice Coil
Designed with a long coil, it allows for a high excursion, resulting in superior bass reproduction. This long-throw capability ensures the speaker can move more air and generate deeper bass frequencies. To maintain optimal performance, the voice coil is coated with a unique material that prevents overheating, even during extended and intense use. This protective coating assures reliable operation and allows the user to push the speaker to its limits without worrying about heat-related complications.
Vented Pole
Enabling higher power-handling capacity can be tricky, especially with marine speakers. But by allowing a controlled escape of air pressure, the vented pole ensures efficient bass production without compromising sound quality. This design enhances the speaker’s ability to handle higher power levels while maintaining exceptional audio performance. Additionally, since the internal parts of the speakers are exposed, highly corrosion-resistant materials are used inside the speaker basket. Not only do these materials enhance power and bass production, but they also contribute to the overall durability and longevity of the speakers, particularly in adventurous marine environments.
